Welcome to Today’s Top 5. This is the place where we highlight top workforce development activities around the country. Let’s get to it:

Updates 12/16/19

  • Alabama: Troy City Schools hosts Cradle to Career forums to improve educational and workforce opportunities for students and to better engage parents and other stakeholders.

  • New York: Special Olympics New York will be launching a workforce development component to its leadership program for participating athletes. Read more about this program here

  • Michigan and New York: Two local workforce development boards recently presented annual awards to partner organizations. See the groups recognized by GLOW Workforce Development in New York and Oakland County Michigan Works! 

  • New Jersey: Atlantic Cape Community College is working with a variety of partner organizations to meet the job market needs in Atlantic City and continue to build its Workforce Development and Career Education program.

  • Kentucky: The city of Lexington has begun accepting applications for workforce development grants to help create job training programs to build the local economy.
