Indiana: Lost Wage Assistance payments from the Indian Department of Workforce Development will begin September 21st.
Pennsylvania: The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry announced that $4 million in Direct Care Worker Training Grants is available statewide to improve the quality of care provided by direct care workers while creating opportunities for them to build new careers.
Virginia: Danville Community College welcomed its new Vice President of Workforce Services, Brian Jackson, PhD, CWDP, this week.
Florida: The University of West Florida is planning to request $15 million from the Florida Legislature to establish a new Department of Cybersecurity, which would be the first of its kind in the state.
Maryland: SBLC, a Baltimore nonprofit that for 30 years has provided adults with functional literacy, life skills training, career preparation services and several pathways to a high school diploma, has appointed Sid Wilson as executive director.
